On a scale of 1 to 10...

Sometimes, when photographing a client for the first time, I’ll ask, “On a scale of 1 to 10, how do you feel about getting your picture taken?” This helps clear the air: it’s no secret that some people dislike getting their picture taken. (Hopefully it’s not as bad as going to the dentist, right?) And, honestly, I’ve had a wide range of answers to this question, even some 0s and 1s—and that’s okay, it’s an incredibly helpful data point.

When I asked Sam this question, his eyes lit up and he said “six, seven... maybe eight.” And that’s when I saw Sam’s great smile. He had very approachable demeanor; the perfect recipe for a great session. So, we set off to take some of my favorite shots this season—and I discovered a myriad of expressions in a very short time; what I call “The Many Faces of Sam.”

Sam’s ease in front of the camera reflects his personality and outlook on life: easy-going and eclectic. We had fun trying different poses, different smiles, and different locations. Sam has varied interests, too. He’s musical: enjoying music and singing—and he’s technical: hoping to pursue Chemistry in college next year. He enjoys tennis, but also collecting old coins. And he’s also fun-loving: knowing a little bit about a great many topics makes him a great conversationalist—and he’s but hard-working: taking a job at the Sierra, a new store in Short Pump.

Thanks, Sam, for a great senior session! Continue to invest in others and your rewards will be numerous. I wish you both the best in the coming months as you close one chapter and turn the page into another. Congrats on being a SENIOR!
